How to use these guides

Reading a code correctly

Copy the code exactly

Segment displays make some characters look alike: 0 and O, 5 and S, 1 and l, 6 and b. If a code is not listed, try the look-alike character, and note whether it flashes or stays on.

Match your model family

Brands reuse codes with different meanings across product lines. Each guide says which families a code applies to; your model number is on a label inside the door, on the frame or behind the kick plate.

Reset once, not repeatedly

A single power reset clears many one-off codes. If the same code returns, the appliance is reporting a real fault, and repeated resets can make some faults worse.

Know when to stop

Gas or burning smells, sparking, a tripping breaker, overheating or water near wiring mean switch it off and leave it off. Each guide marks those codes "Stop using it".
