Bosch dishwasher codes and what to do

Bosch US 100/300/500/800/Benchmark dishwashers share code meanings; the format depends on generation, not series: older display models (e.g. 100 Series SHE3AR*, SHSM63*, SHP88PZ55N) show E:24-style codes, newer ones (e.g. SHX78CM5N, Benchmark SHX9PCM5N) show four-digit E:61-03-style codes, and some models without a numeric readout (e.g. SHP65CM5N) light or flash all four LEDs. CrystalDry codes (E07, E10, E:21-20, E:21-30) appear only on CrystalDry models, and E:61-60 mainly on models with the PowerControl spray arm.

The code appears on the control-panel display; on newer models the two halves (e.g. E:61 and -03) alternate. Bosch's manuals say to cancel/drain by holding Start about 3 seconds (older) or On/Off about 4 seconds (newer), and for technical faults to cut power at the plug or breaker for at least 2 minutes (Bosch's support site says 30 seconds) before restarting.

Safety first. Switch the appliance off at its power button and unplug it or turn off the breaker before you clean a filter or check a hose. If you smell gas, leave the home and call your gas utility from outside. If there is a burning smell, smoke, sparking or water near wiring, stop using it and keep it off until it has been checked.
