Sub-Zero refrigerator codes and what to do

Covers US full-size Sub-Zero built-in, integrated, column and PRO refrigerators/freezers: older 600 Series, 700 Series/IC-27, 648PRO, Legacy Classic (BI), Legacy Designer (IT/IC/ID), PRO3650/PRO4850, plus current Classic (CL) and Designer (DET/DEC). Older 600/700/648PRO units show words (SERVICE, ICE) and EC codes, Legacy Classic uses icons (wrench, bell) and three-part codes, and touch-screen models show plain-text messages.

Older models flash SERVICE (sometimes with ICE or an EC code) between the temperatures; Legacy Classic lights a wrench icon, often with a chime; touch-screen Designer models list errors under Settings > Information, and connected units can push them to the Sub-Zero Group Owner's App. Sub-Zero's usual reset is the home breaker off for 30 seconds; on 600/700/648PRO, holding the bell key 15 seconds clears EC codes once temperatures are normal.

Safety first. Switch the appliance off at its power button and unplug it or turn off the breaker before you clean a filter or check a hose. If you smell gas, leave the home and call your gas utility from outside. If there is a burning smell, smoke, sparking or water near wiring, stop using it and keep it off until it has been checked.
