GE oven codes and what to do

Covers US GE, GE Profile and Café electric and gas ranges and built-in wall ovens with electronic controls; GE applies one F-code list across these lines. Café and Profile LCD models show the code on screen with a Dismiss button instead of Cancel/Off.

Fault codes appear as F plus a number or letter, often with beeping. GE's manuals say to press Cancel/Off, let the oven cool an hour and retry; if the code returns, cut power at the breaker (30 seconds to 2 minutes) and call for service if it persists.

Safety first. Switch the appliance off at its power button and unplug it or turn off the breaker before you clean a filter or check a hose. If you smell gas, leave the home and call your gas utility from outside. If there is a burning smell, smoke, sparking or water near wiring, stop using it and keep it off until it has been checked.
