Dishwashers on daily duty in Woodbridge
A dishwasher that runs every day, full, wears its filter, spray arms and pump faster than one that runs twice a week. The first sign is often dishes that come out gritty, with food redeposited on the top rack.
Clean the filter monthly and check the spray arm holes for seeds or chips of glass. A blocked arm leaves part of the rack dirty.
Two requests further down this page came from Belle Haven. A Fisher & Paykel drawer dishwasher beeped from the top drawer, wouldn't drain and stopped mid-cycle. A GE needed both of its door seals replaced. Drawer dishwashers have a separate filter, pump and seal in each drawer, so one drawer can fail while the other keeps working.
Worn door seals show up as drips at the front corners or water on the floor after a cycle. They're inexpensive to replace.
Food left on plates is the main thing that clogs filters in a busy kitchen. Scraping plates, with no need to rinse them, keeps the filter clear and the pump healthy.
